light me a candle

light me a candle, hold it high overhead,
light up the darkness, make the path overhead...
shine down.

show me some goodness, and don't let it rain,
don't let what's falling, fall down again.
and don't let the wind blow, and put out the light,
that you carry in your hand,
on this good night.

it's very easy if you haven't your eyes,
to dream out in darkness, don't ask me why.

as strong as you are, there is so much to learn,
so far to look out to,
while the candle burns.

light me a candle and make it burn bright.
share me your vision, give me your sight.
