I think the guy on the lower right is the MOST HANDSOME
in the picture. Is that you? If it is I will be dreaming
of you tonight!!!

So, whatever happened to your brother Tim? I was friends with Norma(my brother is married to her sister), but I was moved away by the time they went through their divorce, and never really heard much about it. I knew he was raising the kids and seems she had some kind of breakdown or something. Sad, anyway, just wondering.
tim is doing good avongirl5. he has a house in the santa cruz mountains, the kids have grown up and are doing good. he's still playing music and calls me about twice a month. hey, if i can ask, how did you run into that post, or even this blog? there's a million of these things on the net! ;)
I just put "Zentner Brothers" into a yahoo search- my neighbor had a friend visiting here in Sac a few days ago, and the day after that I realized the guy reminded me of one of you brothers. So, I thought I'd just put a search to see if you all were still playing or not.

Ha, just remembering the good old days. It was Pismo beach summer of 1973. Spent the first night fighting off
the older brother, Sam I think. Anyway he was a total jerk. Then spent the next few weeks being a groupie and falling for Mike. He was a total hottie. He dumped me a few weeks later. Just wondering if he remembers me.
~Colleen from MN
yes, sam was an asshole. a jerk as you said. back in those days we were just starting our "tour" of the country and as it progressed people tended to "blur". if mike is anything like me he will remember those times in pismo. mike ended up a family man, 2 kids, and still has a room full of guitars and a head full of music. i think i remember you and some friends myself. i particularly remember 2 brunette girls that were leader of the pack. were you one of those? old times, eh? be well in life, funny how time passes.
No I'm not one of the brunetts. I was a short, little blonde with a friend who hooked up with Chris. Guess too many girls to remember :) I was the one he couldn't score with. Not Sam or Mike. Maybe that will ring a bell.
We had some dynamite weed, hung around for a few weeks going to the bars with the band and sleeping on the beach. I remember them playing mostly Eagles music. Well it was an adventure I'll never forget. Happy to hear Mike is having a good life.
wow, sleeping on the beach in sleeping bags, hanging out smoking pot and having fun, you fired up my memory machine. when i'm on the river today in my kayak i'll toast to those times and include you in the toast. :)
Thanks for the toast and for making me smile. Here's to the good ol'days and to many more ahead.
I saw you guys in Kansas City one October in the then River Quay area. It must have been over 25 years ago. Obviously you made an impression. Just wondered what happened to those fine young men. Thank you.
Hi sam, what happened to Pat?
"limey"
Hi Limey. Pat is dead now, I am Chris. Not Sam. Be well where you are, conquer your challenges.
What happened to Breen???

Do you by any chance remember which two of you sang backup harmonies with Stir Crazy in the Flux Studio in 1976? You guys did a great job on Cyndies Song, thanks Art Wozniak
Art, I honestly cannot remember that. My best guess would be Breen and Pat, they were the lead vocalists. Geeze, I'm trying to pull up Flux Studios in the few brain cells I have left, let me get back to you...
Was thinking about Santa Cruz and about my sister today and did a search for other people I knew back then--late '70s/early '80s. I was really such a child then. I came across this blog and thought I would write a few words. My sister, Janet, is gone now. She died in 2010. So I'm the oldest now in our family as I guess you are in your family now, too, since Sam and Pat are gone. It looks like you have an idyllic life on the river. Hope your days are filled with contentment. You should get another dog, if you haven't already. "J.D. Anderson"
J.D., people don't really die. Personalities exist forever. I'm sorry about Janet, she isn't really gone you know, she's where Sam and Pat are.
I dunno about another dog, you must have been to my house in Capitola and saw Niki. There will never be another dog like her. I have a cat now, it's all good.
These days are an endless wonderment, it's the best place I've ever lived.
Be well J.D.
Happy Easter, Chris. Thanks for the remarks/comments.
I do not remember your dog, Niki. When I first knew you, you were living in a little house in Capitola with Breen and his girlfriend (I think her name was Linda?) and I don't recall any pets at that time. It can be very hard to lose a beloved pet. You can't "get over it", but just get through it and out the other side. I absolutely sympathize with that.
Could you let me know how your brothers are doing? I would be very grateful to hear any news and updates on Michael, Breen, Tim and David.
Really glad you are living in a place you like so well.
J.D., I sent you an email.
I have no idea how old this thread is. But thought I'd say hi. My name is Bonnie. I knew the band when they lived in house on 41st Ave. (I remember surf boards stored in the tub!). I knew the brotherthrough my friend Patti Slaughter. We used to visit from Fresno. I also hung out with a girl named Shelly who lived in Scott's Valley., who was a big fan. We all were. I had a super big crush on Chris.I found Chris on FB, but I do now 6 want to bother him. We were seeing each other for a short while. My husband and I are in Soquel to see some music at the Ugly Mug. Being in this area again brings back a lot of memories. We are in the music biz and we came here to support a friend and tourism g musician. We live by Pismo Beach. I remember the Zentner Brothers were a very good band! My best to all of you. -Bonnie Nelson-Key (I can be found on Facebook or www.songwritersatplay.com
You're my friend on Facebook now Bonnie. It's incredible how these years go by, and how we evolve from where we were to where we are. Music is a wonderful thread for the fabric of life.
